Blue Springs is a city that continues to grow in efforts to meet the needs of its changing community members including residents, visitors and business owners.

Development is necessary to maintain our healthy community and is a major part of what makes Blue Springs a welcoming place to live, work and play. Below you can find more information about the current development projects in Blue Springs.

Major Development

White Oak Marketplace

In July 2016,demolition began on the exterior of what was known as White Oak Plaza. Located near the corner of Highway 7 and 40, this area was long identified by residents as a potential space for redevelopment. Construction will take place in three phases. Phase I will include a new 85,000-square-foot Cosentino’s Price Chopper with a 6,000-square-foot attached retail space. Phase II and III includes a proposed senior residential community for seniors and several retail or restaurant sites.

St. Luke's Specialty Clinic

Construction has started on the  36,000-square-foot St. Luke's specialty clinic located on the southeast corner or Adams Dairy Parkway and R D Mize Road. The clinic will feature primary care providers, imaging and lab areas along with specialists who can address particular care needs. “Adding a Blue Springs site has been in our strategic plan for a number of years,” Bob Bonney, Saint Luke’s senior vice president of non-acute services and development, said in an email. The building will be designed to expand as needed; the target date for completion is mid-2017.

Coronado Center


The 10,125 square foot office building will primarily house Reece Nichols with 8,095 square feet of office space. An additional 2,030 square foot tenant space is on the west end of the building.

Gaming Partners International

Gaming Partners International (GPI) broke ground on a $2.2 million expansion in Blue Springs. The company manufactures table game equipment to casinos worldwide. Completion is expected for late 2016.

Crossfit Cerberus

Middle Ground Coffee Shop


The former downtown post office located on 200 NW 11th Street has been renovated into a CrossFit gym. This location opened in mid-2016 and includes a Pro Shop and a special area for kids.

This specialty brew coffee shop is located directly below Simply Frosted on downtown’s flourishing Oak Street.

Two in One

This 2-in-1 store is located in the Adams Dairy Landing Shopping Center.

Quick Trip

Quick Trip (QT) is coming to the northwest corner of US 40 HWY and SW 7 HWY with an anticipated fall 2016 opening. They have proposed to develop a 5,858 square foot convenience store and 24 pump gas station. This layout is similar to the QT located along Little Blue Parkway, north of I-70 and the QT at the intersection of US 40 Highway and Lee’s Summit Road in Independence.

This promises to be a convenient location for Blue Springs residents and commuters!
