An application can be obtained online or by calling the Revenue / Tax Collection Department at 816-228-0131, or by visiting:
903 W. Main St.
Blue Springs, MO 64015
Applicants must return the completed application along with applicable attachments (listed on page 4 of the application) to the Revenue / Tax Collection Department at City Hall.
The Revenue Collections Clerk sends the application and attachments to the Police Department as well as Codes Administration for investigation. This process takes approximately 10-15 working days.
Upon approval by the Police Department and Codes Administration, the liquor license is placed on the consent agenda for the next available City Council meeting.
Immediately upon council approval, an approval letter is prepared for the applicant to submit to the state and county in order to receive their respective licensing. The city license can be picked up at the Revenue / Tax Collection Department after a copy of the state license has been submitted.
A city liquor license is assigned and recorded on the city’s control sheet for verification purposes.
A liquor license is prepared for the mayor’s signature and is then mailed to the respective applicant.
Once the license is received it must be posted in an area that can be viewed by all. A current license must be posted at all times.
*All licensing is based upon availability. In the instance no licenses are available, the Revenue Collections Clerk will maintain a waiting list. Once a license becomes available the first name on the waiting list will be notified.
