Missouri Municipal League Elects Blue Springs City Councilman, Chris Lievsay as President

Chris Lievsay elected as MML PresidentJEFFERSON CITY, Mo. –On Sept. 18, the Missouri Municipal League elected City of Blue Springs Councilman, Chris Lievsay as President during the annual conference in Branson, Missouri.

Lievsay has served on the Blue Springs City Council as the District 2 representative since 2010. Having called Blue Springs home for most of his life, Lievsay earned his associate degree at the Metropolitan Community Colleges, went on to complete his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and Master of Business Administration at Columbia College. He also earned a Master of Education from WGU-Missouri.

Currently, Lievsay substitute teaches for the Blue Springs School District, and works as adjunct faculty for Park University and Columbia College.

Lievsay’s service includes the board of directors for the School of Economics, past chairman of the Public Safety Citizens Advisory Board, past president of the Blue Springs Citizens Police Academy Alumni Association, and second vice-president of the Blue Springs Historical Society. He also is a graduate of the Blue Springs Chamber of Commerce Leadership Class, the Central Jackson County Fire Protection District Citizens Fire Academy, the Blue Springs Police Department Citizens Police Academy, and participates in the Blue Springs Volunteers in Police Service (VIPS) program. Outside of Blue Springs, Lievsay is Chair of the Jackson County 4-H Foundation, a local board member for the U.S. Selective Service System, and on the board of directors for Columbia College Alumni Association. He was elected to the board of directors for the Missouri Municipal League in 2015.

Lievsay attends Cornerstone Church in Blue Springs where he met and married his wife Grace. They have two young children, Benjamin and Emily.
