A Blue Springs resident since 1995, Dale Carter was elected to the District 1 council seat in April 2010. A strong advocate for the Blue Springs School District, Carter is deeply involved in the Comprehensive School Improvement Plan Advisory Board for the Blue Springs School District as well as the Advisory Board for the Blue Springs Education Foundation. A member of the Blue Springs Chamber of Commerce, Carter is also involved in the National Night Out Against Crime Prevention event and Wall That Heals, a half-scale Viet Nam memorial coming to Blue Springs this fall. Within his professional field, he has served on the Board of Directors for a national organization (Country Radio Broadcasters). Philanthropically, he is one of the driving forces behind the annual “Country Cares St Jude Radiothon” that has raised millions of dollars for St Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Born in 1963 in Evansville, Indiana, Carter started his professional radio career in 1979. He has been in radio, in increasing positions ever since. Carter is current program manager and co-host of Dale and Mary in the Morning on KFKF, 94.1FM. Carter serves as the stadium voice for the Kansas City Chiefs football and as the play-by-play voice for both the Blue Springs Wildcats and Blue Springs South Jaguars football on KCWJ-AM 1030. In 1988, Carter graduated from the University of Southern Indiana with a Bachelors of Science in Political Science. Carter has been married to his wife Lisa for 20 years. They have four children, Andrew, Nicholas, Matthew, and Jonathan. Carter’s top priorities include supporting local business development, attracting new residents and reinvesting in public safety.
