A Blue Springs resident since 1978 Susan Culpepper was elected to the District 3 City Council seat in April 2013. Prior to Culpepper’s election she served 21 years on the Blue Springs Planning Commission and numerous committees and commissions for the city. Culpepper was honored as Citizen Leader of the Year, Blue Springs by the Missouri Municipal League.
Culpepper serves on the board of directors of the Downtown Alive organization and is very involved with the economic revitalization of Blue Springs. She also serves on the board of the Economic Development Corporation and is a member of the Blue Springs Chamber of Commerce. Culpepper has served as Blue Springs Mayor Pro, board member of the Blue Springs Historical Society, and the board of the St. Mary’s Hospital Auxiliary. As a graduate of the Blue Springs Citizens’ Police Academy, Culpepper participates in the alumni association and is a graduate of the CJC Citizens' Fire Academy.
Culpepper is an accountant, married for 38 years to B.H. Culpepper, has a son, Matthew and 4 step-children, Michael, Gloria, Jennifer, and Sandra.
