Eric Butkovich has served as Blue Springs Assistant City Prosecutor since 1993.
Butkovich has a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of Missouri-Kansas City with minors in three areas including History, Economics and Slavic Studies. In 1993, following completion of his undergraduate studies, he obtained a law degree from the same institution and became a member of the Missouri bar later that year.
Since 2014, Butkovich has worked as the Assistant Prosecutor for Jackson County Municipal Court Division 301, concurrent to his position with the City. He also lectures for the Blue Springs Citizen’s Police Academy and the City’s Youth Police Academy. In the past, he lectured for the UMKC School of Law Department of Continuing Legal Education.
Butkovich credits his success to being a stay-at-home parent to his five children. His three daughters are current students at the California Institute of Technology. His oldest son is in the tenth grade and his youngest son is in the sixth grade.
