The City of Blue Springs leases most street lights from Kansas City Power and Light (KCP&L).
The only street lights owned and maintained by the City of Blue Springs are along the following roadways:
Adams Dairy Parkway within city limits.
Highway 40 between 19 th Street and Highway 7 with the exception of street lights over traffic signals.
The Missouri Department of Transportation owns and operates the street lights over traffic signals on Highways 7 & 40.
Please direct street light maintenance requests as follows:
To request street light maintenance for a MoDOT street light, call MoDOT District 4 at (816) 622-6500.
To request street light maintenance for a city street light, call the Public Works Department at (816) 228-0195.
There are a few subdivisions where the street lights are privately owned and maintained. Residents should contact their HOA president for service. A list of these subdivisions includes:

When requesting maintenance please identify the address (or nearest street intersection) and, if available, the identification number to expedite the response. The identification number can be found on the pole, i.e. BS1234 for a KCP&L.
