In order to be eligible for home delivered meals, a person must be aged 60 years or older and physically or mentally unable to leave their home. A limited number of meals are available for those who are age 18-59 years and disabled. In some situations, an eligible person’s caregiver may also receive meals.

Both meal programs are co-sponsored by the Mid-America Regional Council (MARC) Commission on Aging. Federal funds assist in the cost of meal planning and preparation.

Priority is given to prospective clients as follows:
  • Individuals who are in the protective services program of the Missouri Division of Aging
  • Those who cannot provide meals for themselves and have no friends, family, or neighbors to help them do so
  • Those with only intermittent support, such as only on weekends or evenings
  • Those who can provide meals for themselves on occasion, but can not attend a senior center on a regular basis
  • Those who have a spouse or caregiver in the home and it is to the advantage of the homebound client to receive meals
