This section provides information on current Bid and Contract Opportunities. Bid and Contract postings are made as services are needed by the City. This information is conveniently provided to service providers, contractors, vendors, suppliers, and consultants who are seeking these opportunities with the City.

Sealed bids will be received at the Blue Springs City Hall Annex, Office of the Director of Community Development, 903 W. Main Street, Blue Springs, Missouri 64015 (located directly behind City Hall) until 2:00 PM on Tuesday, June 18, 2013 for the Transportation and Sale of Recyclable Materials for the Pink Hill Park Recycling Center, Project No. 13-05-01. At said time, and promptly thereafter, all bids that have been duly received will be publicly opened and read aloud in the East Conference Room at City Hall. There shall be a Pre-Bid Conference scheduled for 2:00PM, Tuesday, June 11, 2013 in the East Conference Room at City Hall. Interested bidders are encouraged to attend. The project is tentatively scheduled to be awarded on Monday, July 15, 2013.

Copies of the contract/bid documents will be available for pickup Monday, June 3, 2013 at the office of the Community Development Department, (annex building directly north of City Hall), 903 W. Main Street, Blue Springs, Missouri 64015, telephone number 816/220-4504.

The City of Blue Springs, Missouri reserves the right to award the contract by sections, to reject any or all bids, and to waive any informalities or irregularities therein.  The City of Blue Springs hereby notifies all bidders that it will affirmatively ensure that in any contract entered into pursuant to this advertisement, minority business enterprises will be afforded full opportunity to submit bids without discrimination, regardless of race, color, or national origin in consideration for any award. All bidders are also notified that as a condition for contract award documentation proving “their enrollment and participation in a federal work authorization program” such as E-verify must be submitted to the City.  No bidder may withdraw their bid within 60 days after the actual date of the opening thereof.

Sealed bids will be received at the City of Blue Springs, Public Works building, office of the Interim Director of Public Works, 500 SE Sunnyside School Road, Blue Springs, MO until 2:00 pm July 12, 2013 for One (1) 2013-2014 single axle 2x4 with 152-inch wheelbase complete with hydraulics and bed.  At said time and place, and promptly thereafter, publicly opened and read aloud.  Acceptance of bid dependent upon administrative and council approval.

Specification package will be available Monday, June 17, 2013, and may be picked up at the Public Works office at 500 SE Sunnyside School Road.  Said specifications are to be considered minimum requirements for the equipment which will be used as a two (2) man truck, equipped with central hydraulics, dump bed, material spreader with a mid-ship spinner, front mounted snow plow and a trailer hitch capable of pulling a 20,000 GVW trailer.

A PTO mounted hydraulic pump shall power an electric actuated hydraulic valve system with a primary control system mounted between the seats and a secondary control mounted on the dash.  The bed shall be a combination of a dump and conveyor material handling system, conveyor fully reversible, capable of moving and discharging material to the front or rear of the bed.  A hydraulic powered spinner assembly shall be mounted mid-ship.  The equipment shall contain accessories as set forth in the specifications, to make a completely operational and functional unit.
