It won’t be long before residents are able to shop at the first of several new retail stores at the new Adams Dairy Landing in Blue Springs. Target, one of the major retail anchors at the Landing, is scheduled to open its doors in October 2009.

 

Shortly after the store opens, residents will see other retail stores occupying the in-line shops adjacent to Target. Additional stores to be included in the 65-acre, 600,000-square-foot development are:

 

• GAP
• Sally Beauty Supply Store
• GameStop
• Famous Footwear
• Maurices
• PETCO, and Mattress Firm

 

Restaurants also expected to locate within the Landing are:

• Chipotle
• Arby’s, and
• Olive Garden

Strategically located along I-70 at Adams Dairy Parkway, adjacent to Wal-Mart and Home Depot, Adams Dairy Landing will serve the eastern portion of the Greater Kansas City Metro area as well as rural areas further east. This will be one of the closest major retail centers for many residents in eastern Jackson County.

The project’s design theme will be an Italian/Mediterranean style architecture with large areas for public gatherings. The overall retail development includes a pedestrian friendly walkable design that will allow for community events and activities.
