Crime Mapping
The City of Blue Springs has partnered with LexisNexis to deliver the power of crime mapping and analysis to your computer. To access the online crime map, click here.
Online crime mapping helps residents form a better understanding of the crime activity in their area so they can make more informed decisions. Information provided on the map represents a wide spectrum of law enforcement activity from serious crimes to information only reports. Basic information provided includes the type of crime, date and time, crime location and the block-level address. The system syncs with Blue Springs Police Department’s records system to provide users with crime information as reports become available.
The Community Crime Mapping tool uses geocoding to format the data so it can be displayed on a map, a data grid, or on an analytics dashboard. Each of these breakdowns are available to users online with the use of an electronic device of their choice. The information provided is intended to promote community awareness and encourage the use of crime prevention measures. Users can sign up for an automated neighborhood watch report set to their specifications. These reports are generated automatically and can be received daily, weekly or monthly to the email address of your choice.
