Mommy and Me - December 2022

The long, cold winter is quickly approaching which means the Fieldhouse and its amenities will be an important way to stay social and active indoors. A new group exercise class called “Mommy and Me” with both social and physical benefits will begin Friday, January 6 from 8:30-9:30 a.m. on the turf. This class will meet weekly and be led by personal trainer Mary MacDonald. As a mother of three, Mary is passionate about offering this new program to soon-to-be moms and current moms.

There is a wealth of knowledge confirming the importance of exercise for the mother’s health pre- and post-partum. Children six weeks to five years old are welcome to attend with their parent. Children can be used as resistance for exercises or to stay in their carrier/stroller. Child Watch also will be available during this time. There is no registration required and the class is free with membership or a day pass purchase.

For the older adults, 50+ years of age, our always popular Silver Sneakers classes will continue to be offered Monday-Friday and are an excellent option for social and physical interaction in the colder months.

For those looking to reduce back pain and increase total body flexibility “Deep Stretch and Restore” will begin Wednesday January 11 5:15-6:15 in the aerobics room led by personal trainer Jamie Mason. The registration fee is $30 for the six-week program aimed at reducing tightness, strengthening core muscles and improving posture for all abilities and activity levels.

The Fieldhouse, with its many programs and offerings, is a great place to be during the winter months. To find out more information, call the Fieldhouse front desk, 816-228-0137, or check the Fieldhouse website.
