D.A.R.E. operates in all Blue Springs elementary schools both public and private in all 5th grade classes. This program builds a unique relationship between the school/teachers/community and the police department.
D.A.R.E. curriculum enables students to:
- Say no to peer pressure
- Learn and practice resistance strategies
- Positive ways to deal with stress
- Bullying and how to safely report it
- Health effects of alcohol/tobacco use
- Importance of communication
- Vaping
- Over the counter and prescription medication safety
- Identify help networks
