Blue Springs resident since 1995, Dale Carter was elected to the District 1 council seat in April 2010. A strong advocate for the Blue Springs School District, Carter has been deeply involved in the Comprehensive School Improvement Plan Advisory Board for the Blue Springs School District as well as the Advisory Board for the Blue Springs Education Foundation.

He has served as the council liaison to the Parks Commission and served on the steering committee for the proposed Community Center, liaison to the Citizens Public Safety Citizens Advisory Board and Planning Commission and currently serves as council liaison to the Solid Waste and Public Arts Commissions.  In addition, Carter served on the steering committee for the Comprehensive Plan and Unified Development Code reviews.

Within his professional field, he has served on the Board of Directors for a national organization (Country Radio Broadcasters). Philanthropically, he is one of the driving forces behind the annual “Country Cares St Jude Radiothon” that has raised millions of dollars for St Jude Children’s Research Hospital. In 2018, Carter was named the Academy of Country Music’s Large Market Air Personality of the Year.

Born in 1963 in Evansville, Indiana, Carter started his professional radio career in 1979. He has been in radio, in increasing positions ever since. Carter is current program director and host of the Dale Carter Morning Show on KFKF, 94.1FM. Carter also serves as the stadium voice for the Kansas City Chiefs and spent 10 years as the radio voice for Blue Springs and Blue Springs South High School Football. In 1988, Carter graduated from the University of Southern Indiana with a Bachelor of Science in Political Science.

Carter has four children, Andrew, Nicholas, Matthew, and Jonathan and three grandchildren.

Carter’s top priorities include supporting local business development, attracting new jobs and reinvesting in infrastructure to continue to make Blue Springs a great place to live, play and work.
